Big Girl

Here is big girl on our 1st day back at work.. Don't you wish we could all do this during the day!

Best Friends. . Here she is today cuddled up with her buddy (H-dog)..in my bed though. Hey where she falls asleep..she stays! We don't wake a sleeping baby in this house (except for Gigi..and if you wake her..she is all yours!) You have to look close..she is behind Hank in between the 2 pillows.

We have a big weekend! Her 1st Christmas party ..still deciding if I'm going to bring her or not..and her 1st bday party to attend! Should be a fun weekend! Yes, I know our life sounds boring to some, but we stay pretty entertained!

SNOW DAY!!

ahh How I love a snow day!! I woke up this morning, well actually someone woke me up.. anyways, and it was snowing!!!! It snowed for about 2 hours, didn't stick, but it was still pretty! Hank loves playing in the snow, but does not want to go out in the snow with out his mom or dad. So this morning when I took him out, I had to go out there in flip flops and shorts so the big guy would pee! He has his christmas collar on and checks under the tree every day for his pigs ears!!

Went to the Dr today, got the okay to excersise..blah. I do like spin classes so I'm thinking of starting some of those back up..who will volunteer to watch E for me?! Emerson and I are headed back to work..well sort of. We're going to work from home for a bit! She better pull her weight with the work load!

The snow... and...

Emerson on snow day! Hat..check...mittens..check..snow boots..check. We took a trip to the office to visit co workers (too cold for her to play outside). She came prepared incase there was a snow ball fight, turns out there was not. Maybe next time!

During her frustration of going to bed, she accidentally grabbed the toy on her car seat..so she held onto it for a good 2-3 hours!

1 month check

Emerson had her 1 month Dr check yesterday. The Dr said she is doing perfect..duh..did he expect other wise?!?! She now weighs 8.11 pounds! Big girl has grown 2 pounds since she was born. She was so happy at her appointment until she got her shot. She was sucking on John's finger, then all of a sudden she screamed and then no noise came out but her mouth was open wide and her face was bright red:( Poor baby. I made John hold her becuase I didn't want her to associate me with the shot! haha! She's doing soo good at night, she sleeps in 5 hour shifts at night, it's been great! The Dr. said I should start putting her in her room and her crib at night..I don't know if I could do that.. she's just so tiny! But this morning she did wake up horizontel in the bassinet... Hank has not gotten up for the day, but it is only 9 40! Aww must be nice to be a dog.

Johns parents came in town and my mom made some lunch and cranberry margaritas, then we headed to the poinsetta farm! It was a great day had by all! (except hank because he had to stay at home)

Happy Thanksgiving!

This year we had so much to be thankful for..a healthy baby and wonderful family and friends who have supported us! We stayed at home this year since Emerson was only a month old. My parents came over and we cooked lunch, ate, sat around, walked the dog and the baby, watched the Cowboys, made a Xmas wreath, and put the Christmas lights up outside! We missed grandma and grandpa Sonsini in WF, but we will see them Sunday!

We took Emerson black friday shopping! Well, we didn't get out at 4 am because she was asleep, and that is good news! We made it out around 11! She had soo much fun! She basically looked cute and slept through the whole thing! The stroller comes in hand for hauling around things to buy!

Happy 1 Month!

I can not believe it's already been 1 whole month!! Where has the time gone!! Not a whole lot has changed, still in new born diapers (we tried 1's but they are too big) and still wearing baggy new born clothes! But she does seem to be filling them out a little more these days! We go to the Dr on monday for her 1 month check and 1st set of vaccinations! She is super excited because we go shopping after a shot! Speaking of shopping, she already loves it! Actually she just loves being in her car seat and stroller! Mom and I took her to the mall yesterday and she had a pretty good time. She started fussing one time, but mom carried her for a bit and she was back asleep. She had a long day..we went to eat lunch 1st, then milk shakes after! We found the perfect Baby's 1st Christmas ornament..that was our main shopping goal! We might take her black friday shopping!! The crazy shoppers will be annoyed of me with my big stroller, but I'll be annoyed that they are that crazy about shopping!

Here is Emerson ready for the game today! She has her football food ready (milk) and her outfit on! She's not too happy about the little hat because it falls over her eyes, but she is tolerating it for now!

Her aunt Biv brought her a pink Cowboys outfit, but it's a little big so it will be for pre season and next season! She can't wait!

Busy Busy

We had a busy weekend and Emerson is exhausted! Saturday my brother in law and sister in law came over and stayed for the day and the night! Our friend Brian and Alicha came over with their 7 month old baby girl! We had a really good time, Hank enjoyed having her chase him around (she is crawling). Emerson slept. Brandy and Nick stopped by on their way to the zoo, then we had lunch with my aunt from Kansas and my parents! Just when she thought she was done we had pictures today!! I think they are going to turn out great!! Geri took them and she sent me one that I'll post as a preview! I can't wait to see the rest, Thanks Ger!

Next weekend is the XO Xmas Market in Dallas, we may try and head over there since we missed Christmas Magic this year!

2 weeks and growing!

Emerson had a Dr Appt monday morning and she now weighs 7.36 pounds! Such good news, but I was a little sad..that means she is growing:( My favorite thing right now is when she falls asleep on my chest, she usually has her hands together like she is praying! So sweet. She's been pretty good through out the night so far. She usually wakes up around 12, 2 30 and 5 30 then I wake her up at 9 for the day! Sometimes she skips the 12 wake up! We took her on her 1st outing to Target the other day to grab more wipes! The Petco next door had the Boxer Rescue there that day so of course we walked by to see the boxers. She slept through the whole thing. We're taking her to dinner tomorrow night for the first time..hopefully she is good!

She's had a lot of visitors come to see her! John's grandmother and aunt and his mom came in town last week for a lunch visit. Then this weekend some of my family from out of town was here so she had a busy week and weekend. She seems to sleep better when company is here and there is a lot of noise. Maybe John and I should start talking louder when it's just the 2 of us. Her cord fell off, so we were able to wash her in her tub now! She still doesn't love bath time, but she liked it better than the sponge bath! Also, her Social Security card came in! She already tried opening up a few credit cards to baby stores to get toys and clothes. I told her that's what grandparents are for:)

1 Week Old!

I can not believe she is already 1 week old. Time really does fly! I love how tiny she is because she curls up in a tight ball and sleeps on me and John's chest! She really doesn't like her clothes off, so changing her diaper and bath time are not her favorite parts of the day. She's been laughing/smiling in her sleep..wonder what she is thinking about! I took Emerson and Hank on a walk today while John was at work. It actually went pretty smooth. Hank didn't pull me nearly as much as he did before I had the stroller. He of course had to be in front as far as his leash would allow him to go, but then he kept a normal pace! He's been such a good big brother. When she cries during bath time he stares at me and John like we're mis treating her! Here are a few pics ..

Emerson Kate Sonsini 10-28-09

Emerson finally made her debut!! She was born at 1:02 pm on 10-28-09. She weighed just 6.12 pounds and was 18.5 inches long! She's a tiny little thing! Her clothes are baggy on her, but she will grow into them soon! We were supposed to check out of the hospital this morning but we checked out thursday night so we could get some rest! I ended up going into labor on my own so I did not have to be induced! She was born on her expected due date which never happens! So far everything has been good! She slept for 5 hours straight today..I actually got a little bored! She had lots of good family and friends come visit her! She likes company, she never fusses when there are people around! She had a lot of firsts' today! 1st Dr visit, walk, and bath! Here are some pics of her 1st 2 days of life..

FOOD...I was starving!!! The ice chips wern't cutting it..I snuck 1 little sip of water when the nurse turned around! So sneaky!

Summer, Lindsay, and Jess! Thanks for coming to visit and for the goodies! Jess actually brought Hank a treat that he tore up in 34 seconds when we got home!

And we're ready to go home finally! It was a fun stay having people wait on you hand and foot, but I was glad to get home to my bed and Hank of course!

And they meet! My face is classic..I look nervous..Hank was going nuts because he was excited to see us and meet her!

They really hit it off, this was day 2. He got up with me every time I did to feed and change her. I kept telling him to get his rest, but he insisted. Big brothers..they're so funny!

Ready for the Dr. at 8 am. Not sure how we got up, but we did! And we were early! She was so good at the Dr. .. she only cried when she had to have all her clothes and diaper off. She didn't even budge when they pricked her heel..I pulled my arm away 5 times when I got a flu shot!!

Out and about in my stroller. Okay so we only went around the culda sac, but I'm still recovering from delivery! We just wanted to get out of the house for a minute.

This picture doesn't do justice, but her hair was CRAZY after her bath. It's still sticking straight up!! I didn't get a little baby brush, I may have to get one! Her hair was just embarrassing, but very cute!

I learned something new today. How to toot. And that is not cute, we had to open a window!
