Eye Liner

Well, Emerson got into my eyeliner. I came upstairs to John scrubbing her face with a cloth. I let him do it for a few minutes, then let him in on a little secret we call make up remover. There was a bit more under her chin and other side of her face. I'm sure this will not be the last time she gets into make up!

New bookcase, well sort of...

Emerson's bookcase was my old bookcase from growing up. It was just plain white, dirty, and old. I had an idea of something, and my crafty friend Michelle and I turned the bookcase into something new! I sanded it and painted a light gray coat on the case on Friday, then I drew a sketch, which was silly looking, of what I wanted, and Michelle came over Saturday and we finished it. It only took us about an hour and a half to to the details! I'm starting to change her room decor for toddler bedding, although she won't actually have it for a while. But I'm taking her bumpers out, so she really doesn't have a theme at the moment, so any decor goes! I rearranged her room making a little more play area now!

Before pic..

Here are the 2 sides, it's hard to see the detail, but it's super cute! And I stole a bow of Emerson's to add to the big owl!
Just a view of the rearranged room!

New Year! Happy 2011

Let's see, for NYE this year, we went very low key. Neither of us really felt like doing anything, so we went to Joe T's with another couple and their baby. We went early of course because of the babies and to beat the crowd. There is no wait at 5 pm, haha! When we sat down we were laughing because the only people in the restaurant were families with kids! We were done and out of there by 6 45! I was actually glad to call it an early night! It felt good to catch up on sleep, and plus we had a big day of shopping the Dillards New Year's sale the next day! Emerson got so many cute clothes for next year and John and I found some stuff as well.

This month marks a year I have not been working. I can not believe it. It doesn't feel like it at all, but I feel very lucky to have been able to stay home with Emerson. They change so much from day to day and I love just watching her learn and play, and getting together with other stay at home moms for activities to keep us sane!

I had high hopes for Emerson's NYE skirt, but I couldn't find a shirt to match:(
