Update

Emerson's vocabulary is just getting better and better. She is repeating everything, especially sentences now! She remembers lots of things from days, and even weeks prior and will talk about them. She calls all her friends by name, and friends she doesn't know she calls them friend or kid. She is no longer afraid of strangers, when we picked up sushi last night she walked away, holding the Chinese guys hand to get a sucker. Everything is "my" my nuggy, my pillow, my this my that. She refers to herself as baby or baby Emerson! She asks us multiple times through out the day what we're doing, she is curious about anything and everything. She sings a few songs, twinkle little star, old mcdonald, wheels on the bus, itsy bitsy spider, jingle bells and beyonces put a ring on it. John and I think this is hilarious. She loves books right now. Stays up reading until the wee hours. I don't mind, reading is good and she sleeps later:) She's talking about a 3 hour afternoon nap, bed time is at 7:30! We're having some tantrum issues, but I guess we are well into our 2's.. But we also have some GREAT times. This age is a love/hate age! When it's good, it's great, when it's bad, well it sucks! Emerson has been a huge daddy's girl lately, she wants John to come and do everything with her. The second he walks in from work, c'mon dad, so sweet. She also always wants Hank included. When we read at night, get up here Bud, Bud come here. Of course he ignores her:) She can name and point out every letter, and numbers 1-15! She's known letters since her birthday, and since about a month ago, she can not count as far as 16! They gain so much knowledge each day, it's crazy! We had a garage sale today and I finally let go of some of her baby clothes. I only kept my favorite or memorable things, and a few things that I would re use if we have a girl next. It was sad seeing her things go remembering when she wore them at one time:(

Princesses on Ice

Wednesday night we took our princess to the see the princesses on ice. This was a sliver of a taste of what taking her to Disney world will be like! I bought her a new Cinderella shirt to wear, and could not wait to see her expression when we saw them. She was so proud on the way in carrying her princess things we brought from home. We let her pick 1 souvenir to buy, and she picked a pink princess purse, and she walked so proud with it!! Then we got a tub of popcorn that Emerson insisted on holding, and would occasionally give us a piece! The show had 3 parts, Princess and the Frog, Cinderella, and last Tangled. At the very end every Disney princess you could dream of came out in a white dress fitting their movie, like Mulan, Jasmine, Mermaid, EVERY princess. That was my favorite part! Emerson danced and clapped and screamed princess the whole time. I heard they switch the acts up every year, so we will definitely return! What a fun experience!

Old pics found

I found a few pics that are special to us that I didn't find in our 1st blog book, so I just wanted to make sure they made it in!

This one I had to save from facebook because I'm not sure where it came from! But this was her 1st outfit she wore, and some of the very 1st days of thumb sucking! Looking through pictures, I think she found her thumb in Dec of 09! Very important!

Family of 3! And snug as a bug in the bassinet. This would be day 1-4 because after that she didn't like being swaddled!

This was around 5-6 weeks when I ended up moving her to her crib because she woke up like this in her bassinet!

Dallas Zoo

Wed Natalie and I loaded up Emerson, Kade & baby Ella and headed to the Dallas zoo! The Fort Worth zoo is bigger, and we usually go there bc of the 1/2 price day, but the Dallas zoo just opened a koala exhibit, and has lots of interaction things you can (pay) to do. I love love giraffes, and after feeding and touching them, I don't know how anyone couldn't! This was the main reason Nat and I had been talking about going to the Dallas zoo! We arrived early, and headed straight to the children's zoo. Generally, Emerson has always loved looking at the animals from a distance, but when we get close, she has always freaked out. Not this time. They had chickens roaming free, and when she saw them, she charged over! I was schocked! She went in with the goats, the kid wanted to touch everything! Then we wondered the rest of the zoo, and stopped for some lunch and candy! After re fueling we rode the carousel and then at last it was giraffe time. We wondered up to the giraffe area, and it was so cool. We saw them leaning over, and I think Natalie and I may have ran over faster than the kids. We were so excited to touch a giraffe!! We bought some giraffe food and went over to feed them and get some (a lot) of pics! Only one of the giraffes came over, his name was Tobago, and he was so sweet. Emerson loved it! She was saying, pet fwaff, hug fwaff! It was such an awesome experience! Kade was a little freaked out, I think Tobago was trying to eat his food and it made him nervous. We stayed in that area for a good 30 minutes. Groups of people came and went, but we stayed and stayed. At one point the attendant thanked us for feeding him, not sure if that was a hint to leave or not, but we still stayed. Being that close, and touching him was definitely worth the trip! After we pulled ourselves away from him, we went and rode the monorail before heading out. The kids were starting to get tired. The train wasn't that great, not really worth the $4. At one point, everyone wanted to sit with Natalie and we almost dropped all 3 kids! But we made it out with minor problems through out the day! It was such a fun time! And of course everyone passed out shortly after leaving the parking lot!

Get ready for picture over load, of course I couldn't just pic a few..
