Thanksgiving 2011

This year for Thanksgiving my parents came to our house. I love having holidays at my house so I can change into my comfy pants after! John cooked his 1st turkey, which was smoked, and it turned out great! I made my favorite home made mac and cheese, and my mom brought some appetizers and other yummy sides and pumpkin cheesecake, yum! We had a great lunch, then my parents took Em on a walk to the park while John and I fell asleep. Emerson started calling my dad Bob out of no where. She hasn't called him anything yet, so this was so funny to us. It's either because she's heard my mom call him Bo so many times, or because when we were in Colorado, one of my uncle Bob's kept telling her, "I'm your uncle Bob". Either way, it was funny, so my parents are Gigi and Bob!

Disney on Ice

The night before Thanksgiving, Nat and I took the kids to Disney on Ice. We stopped at Chick Fil A for some dinner, and after being in the car an hour, the kids were ready to scream and have fun. It was a pretty entertaining dinner. I think they really enjoyed the show, aside from the long Lilo and Stich act, because they didn't recognize any characters. They kept their eyes on the show the whole time, clapping and holding their souvenirs up! Emerson even ate popcorn from the nice family in front of us:)

Can't go to a show without buying the over priced "Stuff". Nat bought Em the light up singing Mermaid and they both got a Mickey!

Watching and clapping during the show! The flash was bright in our self photo!

Decorating our tree

It actually took us 3 different days to decorate our house and tree. The day we had planned on it, we put some cookies in the oven, and got the tree out only to find 3 strands out:( John didn't feel like pulling out each bulb to check that day so we had to wait on him. When he worked on it yesterday, Emerson and I put her tree together. She was a hoarder of the snowflakes. I had to bribe her with candy to give them to me for her tree! Her tree is purple and silver, and our big tree is red/lime green and silver/white this year! It turned out great! I still need a topper, so I'll post a final picture later. She had fun putting the ornaments on the tree, and taking them off. I have a feeling it's going to be a long holiday season of re decorating my tree. Oh well, she seems very excited about Santa this year! We talk about him all the time, and she points him out every where we go!

Busy at work!

Such a big helper!

Chores

Emerson loves anything and everything about Hank, so her chores is to fill his dog food bowl. She enjoys doing it, but once it's full, she trys hand feeding him, which he does not enjoy...

Em and her Hank

Em loves Hank to death, she can't get enough of him. Unfortunately, I think he is annoyed most of the day:)

Sleeping beauty

This girl loves her my little ponies and snug bear. EVERY day we lug them around the house, up and down the stairs, every where we go. I walk in to get her in the morning and she's standing outside her bed tucking the ponies in talking to them. This morning she had her de-tangler spray and comb, and diapers and wipes on the bed too. Must have been a salon day for the ponies! Such a cute little age she's at !

Emerson is repeating everything, and saying lots and lots of phrases/sentances now. It's so fun to hear the things she comes up with! She requests certain shows to watch, either Minnie Mouse, ponies, or Bubble Guppies. She loves to name every item in the house, and if it belongs to momma, dadda, baby or bubba. And she love to name her food as well! So sweet, I wish I could record every second of the day so I'll always remember!

Lee Lou

I don't want to ever forget this, Emerson has started saying "lee lou" which means love you, when John leaves for work, or when we tuck her into bed. I can hear her on the monitor now saying lee lou momma lee lou dadda. So sweet!

1st Official Haircut!

I've trimmed Emerson's hair myself before, but I decided it was time to go in and get a real cut. Her hair was looking shaggy, and we just got it trimmed up and shaped up! She did so good, I was very schocked! She sat in a red car and pretended to drive the whole time, occasionally she reached out to take Amy's name tag off:) No crying or fussing at all. And at the end she got glitter heart stamps on her cheeks and boy was she proud!

Had to add this pic of my sweet boy

And....we're off!!

Finished! So proud of herself!

Halloween

Halloween is so fun for us because it's also Gigi's birthday. This year John had a late meeting, so me and Emerson went to my parents and had some pizza and cake, then went out to trick or treat. We went to the same block party as last year, but this year was so much fun because she could trick or treat. The 1st few houses she was very shy and wouldn't even hold her pumpkin out. Then she got into it and started saying "trick treeeeat", and by the end she was just walking up to the doors yelling CANDY! haha! She had a lot of fun, and we got home and dumped our pumpkin out and went through all the candy with daddy. I think she was eating candy until 9 pm that night!

Em putting the final touches on our pumpkin!

Our lady bug trick or treating!

She would not let anyone carry her pumpkin for her, no matter how heavy it got!

Walking back with Freckles and Gipa. Showing dada all the goodies!

Our happy little family!

This is the last blog for this blog book, can't wait to print tonight!
