Swim school

I was so excited to sign Emerson up for swim this year! We had our 1st class today and it was so fun! Our teacher informed us that we wouldn't be getting in the water for the whole 14 weeks depending on how your child progresses. I was so proud of how well she did-she jumped off the side multiple times going all the way under and popping back up! She went down the slide and did the same! She sang at the TOP of her lungs to the songs, I even had a mom after class thank me for her being so enthused about it because it made the other kids more encouraged..ha! She cheered for the other kids, although after experiencing how fun jumping in was, she was not that excited to learn actual swimming skills. I can't wait to see what she'll be like at the end of our long session!

Sunday fun

We went to the museum Sunday as a family-John had not been yet, and he really enjoyed it! It was fun to watch them play with all the cool stuff there! And as we were walking out we came across a nice girl that let Em get on her horse! That made her day!

I've painted Emerson's fingers and toes on many occasions, but on Friday I was in bad need of a pedicure so I decided to take her along and let her get her toes painted. It wasn't her 1st official pedicure, because she just had a polish change, but she had fun! I plan on taking her to a salon with the kid pedi chairs for her birthday this year! I let her pick her color, and she chose neon blue..tried to change it to pink, but she insisted.
I meant to put the pictures in order, but the new blogger is oppisite than the old way, so they are from end to start! I'll be sure to do the next post correct now that I know!

2 1/2 year old pics!

I took Emerson to the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens this week to take a few pictures for 2 1/2. I thought this would be a fun , easy trip, but I was wrong. The last week or so Emerson has started a new phase where she acts scared of everything, and I mean everything. I've always relied on a few friends I have that take great pictures, but I decided that since I got my new camera after Xmas, I need to put it to good use! Anyways, right as we arrived, we were walking through the grass to a bench, and I wanted to get just a few quick pictures...but a man stopped us. At 1st I thought he was gardens patrol and we were in trouble for being on the grass. But nope, he was a stranger who just wanted to offer Emerson candy. Weird creeper. She rejected it, thank god, but I knew that would set her off.  5 seconds later when we got to the bench, she did not feel like cooperating. So I took what I could and we moved on. We had gotten there early because I wanted to beat the heat. Unfornatley they were still manicuring the lawn, so she was acting scared of the lawn mower and wouldn't get out of the stroller. When she finally did, the grass was wet from the sprinklers, and I guess she is now scared of that as well. Then a bus drove by. So, we spent the next 30 minutes in the stroller. At one point I just sat down by flowers, and about 15 minutes later she got out and started getting comfortable. She let me get the most pictures with the hyrdenias which I had to let her mess with them, I know, I know, totally restricted, but I was  hot and it had been a long wait to be able to take just a few pictures. So anyhow, here are the few I got!

This mother's day was very laid back, just met my parents at Cheesecake factory for an early dinner since it's not quite warm enough to swim yet! Forgot to take a picture with my mom because the wait was 1.5 hours and it was crazy busy! I'll get one next weekend, mom!
