Emerson Kate Sonsini 10-28-09

Emerson finally made her debut!! She was born at 1:02 pm on 10-28-09. She weighed just 6.12 pounds and was 18.5 inches long! She's a tiny little thing! Her clothes are baggy on her, but she will grow into them soon! We were supposed to check out of the hospital this morning but we checked out thursday night so we could get some rest! I ended up going into labor on my own so I did not have to be induced! She was born on her expected due date which never happens! So far everything has been good! She slept for 5 hours straight today..I actually got a little bored! She had lots of good family and friends come visit her! She likes company, she never fusses when there are people around! She had a lot of firsts' today! 1st Dr visit, walk, and bath! Here are some pics of her 1st 2 days of life..

One of my 1st pictures!

Me and mom just minutes after I was born
1st family pic!
Proud dad
Mom and her co-workers made these
My mom "Gigi"..her 1st pic with Emmy!

FOOD...I was starving!!! The ice chips wern't cutting it..I snuck 1 little sip of water when the nurse turned around! So sneaky!
Summer, Lindsay, and Jess! Thanks for coming to visit and for the goodies! Jess actually brought Hank a treat that he tore up in 34 seconds when we got home!
Mom and her friend Karen
And we're ready to go home finally! It was a fun stay having people wait on you hand and foot, but I was glad to get home to my bed and Hank of course!
And they meet! My face is classic..I look nervous..Hank was going nuts because he was excited to see us and meet her!
They really hit it off, this was day 2. He got up with me every time I did to feed and change her. I kept telling him to get his rest, but he insisted. Big brothers..they're so funny!
Ready for the Dr. at 8 am. Not sure how we got up, but we did! And we were early! She was so good at the Dr. .. she only cried when she had to have all her clothes and diaper off. She didn't even budge when they pricked her heel..I pulled my arm away 5 times when I got a flu shot!!

Out and about in my stroller. Okay so we only went around the culda sac, but I'm still recovering from delivery! We just wanted to get out of the house for a minute.

Before and after my 1st bath. Wasn't a big fan of no clothes, but after I got my towel on I was fine!

This picture doesn't do justice, but her hair was CRAZY after her bath. It's still sticking straight up!! I didn't get a little baby brush, I may have to get one! Her hair was just embarrassing, but very cute!

I learned something new today. How to toot. And that is not cute, we had to open a window!
That's all for now! I'll try and post some more pics sometime this week!
And thank you to my Eagle family for the beautiful flowers! And to Chrissa and Adelyn and Merri and Staci for the flowers and stopping by! I didn't get to snap a pic of yall becuase I was still kind of out of it! But I'm sure I'll be able to get one soon! I'll be up to work to visit sometime soon!

Best time of the year!

Fall/Winter is my favorite time of the year!! I love the weather, scarves, gloves, sweat pants, hoodies, pumpkin spiced lattes (or any latte for that matter), holidays, boots, and much more! This time of the year is hard for Hank because costumes never fit him and we have hard time finding jackets/sweaters that fit the big guy. Boxers have abnormally large chests, and all the clothes are made for normal chested large dogs. Last year I found him the cutest dragon costume, even had a hole for his tail, most boxers don't have tails so this was good!, anyways, he couldn't wear it becuase it didn't fit around his rib cage:( I was at Ross last week and they had the cutest winter booties for dogs for when it rains/snows, only is a S and XS. Why don't they make more stuff for big dogs?! Emerson probably won't dress up this year becuase she will only be a few days old, but this is what Hank wants to be..
Next year him and Emerson can dress up for Halloween together! If she wants to be a ballerina, so will he! Here is a mental image of what he will look like..

He's not ashamed at all, there are many excellent male dancers such as Usher, Chris Brown and Michael Jackson!
There was about an hour of sun the last 2 weeks, and here he is enjoying it! We made smores on Sunday and ever since then Hank has been checking the fire place for marshmallows to come out! I told him it's magic!!
Still waiting for Emerson..any day now! Hopefully sooner than later!
Mom's birthday is on Halloween..who can guess how old she is?!?!?!

Nursery Pics

Well, we think we're ready, at least ready as we'll ever be. John finished hanging the curtains and mirror this weekend so the room is complete! He did all the work in it, the chair rail, painting, fan everything! The car seat is getting put in on the 13th and then we will be ready! Yes, I know we could put the seat in ourselves, but the hospital has free sessions where people who know how to correctly and safely install one do it, so why not! I had my 36 week check friday, and now it's just a waiting game! I'm really hoping for 38-39 weeks becuase I'm starting to get really uncomfortable. The Dr. said any time now is safe and considered full term, so now we wait! Here are a few pics in the mean time..

Here is my bed, Emerson's bed, and Hanks bed!

And here is a better picture of Emerson's bedding!

And here are SOME of her clothes! She won't be able to cry that she has nothing to wear!

Some wall decor!

Eventually this will be a bookshelf/toy shelf, but right now it's an everything shelf.

Dresser/Changing

I got my flu shot at my appointment on friday, I only pulled my arm away 4 times!! Much better than when they draw blood! They usually end up having to re sanitize the area! So the pain and how I handle it on D Day should be interesting! That's all for now! I'll keep you posted next friday with any news!
