Me and My Teddy

Ugh, every since I thought of this post i can't get the stinking Elmo song out of my head..."me and my teddy gettin all ready, getting all ready"... yikes!!

Emerson LOVES her white bear head! You DO NOT want to go over night somewhere without this guy! As soon as you give it to her, she sticks her thumb in and starts snuggling him! When I was 16 weeks pregnant, we went for a sonogram, my mom and John came and we were going shopping after we found out the sex!! I was so excited! Well, little toot had her legs tucked up the whole time, so we couldn't see! I was so disappointed, so we still went shopping and bought some neutral things, who would have thought that she would cling to the little white teddy head that was on Clarence because it had a mark on it (yes, of course I washed it first!) Oh, and the teddy has to be over her face!

8 Months Old

Today Emerson is 8 months old! She's just as sweet as ever. Some things going on: says "baba", to Hank, and has said "mama" 3 times! Smiles, giggles, sits up, still puts anything and everything in her mouth, has an obsession with strings (like draw strings on shorts, or sunglass strap), sqeuals at the top of her lungs when she sees Hank, and then he leaves, enjoys swimming, but not when she is tired, sleeps through the night (has been since late Dec), takes 2-3 good naps a day, curious about everything, loves loves the baby cheetoes (all flavors), drinks a sippy cup of water a day, will eat most everything! And she still claps about everything!

Easier to play if she holds her rings in her mouth..not sure where she learned that?

Dinner Time

I've been giving Emerson more and more food to feed herself, and to keep her busy. I gave her some carrots/green beans/peas and corn on her tray last night, and she wasn't too sure. She ate a few pieces, but mostly played with it. She eats cream cheese or cinnamon toasts well at breakfast so I thought she might like the veggies, but I guess they aren't as yummy!

Huge mile stone...when Emerson is crying she says "mama"! She has only done it 3 times, and only when she is crying. I let her cry for a sec now to see if she will do it!! She says "baba" on a regular basis, I'm convinced she is saying bubba to Hank because that's what we call that sweet little boy! Still not crawling yet, but I think she will by 9 months! P.S., who can believe my little rascal is 8 months old!!!!!!

Also, Emerson started clapping a few nights ago! It's the cutest thing ever! She claps about everything, but she will clap on command when she hears "yaaaaay"! My favorite is when I peek over her crib in the morning to get her and she starts clapping! Just love that little girl!:)

Play Time

We've been having so much fun with our group of friends that we met through story time at the library! Last week we took 6 babies to lunch, and we had no problems!! We walked in and got some strange looks, but we asked for our 6 highchairs and went about our lunch and adult conversation, which I look forward to every week! We went to Double Dave's Pizza because it's buffet..it was easier for us to get food when we could. Some babies were eating, some mama's were eating, and 1 baby fell asleep (lucky mama)! Then the next day we all went to the splash park at one of the mom's neighborhood activity center. We brought in a cooler and pizza and had a great time! Started out in the floaties in the big pool, then moved on to the baby area so we could relax and they could play. I had grabbed a few toys the night before, and they loved them! We even had some kids stealing them! Emerson did great, until the end when it was nap time, she started fussing, so I took her and put on dry clothes and diaper, loaded her in the stroller and she passed out before we said bye! She's getting so big! The babies do soo good together, I think they enjoy being around eachother!

Father's Day

June 20, 2010 was John's 1st fathers day! His parents came in the weekend before and took us to lunch at a Mexican place that has the best guac! Then saturday I made plans for John to golf and spend the day with his friends. Then Sunday we went over to my parents for some bbq and swimming! Emerson gave her daddy a book she found called "the Best Father's Day Ever!" It was a joint gift from Em and Hank.

Shopping cart Fun!

Yes, I am one of those moms who takes a picture of every 1st that Emerson does, and makes a big deal about it! It's not too long and nothing will be an exciting 1st, so you have to get overly excited about the small things now! After her June 1st photo shoot we headed to the grocery store, and I decided to test out the shopping cart with out the the car seat because she has perfected sitting on the ground! She looked so cute, she thought she was soo big, she held on to her can of puffs the whole time. I got a few strange looks as I was snapping random photos inside Kroger, but we didn't let anybody rain on our parade!
