Our Happily Ever After: August 2012

This year we decided to go to Destin, FL for our summer vacation. The beaches have the softest sand ever, the locals describe it has sugar sand. The ocean was so clear, I loved being able to see my feet at the bottom. We had such a good time it's always hard to leave and come back to reality. This was Emerson's 3rd summer to go to the beach, and once again she loved it. The 1st day she was a little timid to walk into the water because it's right where the tiny wave breaks, but by the 2nd day she had gotten her ocean legs back! We searched for sea shells, watched hermit crabs, played in the sand, but Emerson could not get enough of the ocean. We could have spent the entire day in the water if John and I didn't need food and water breaks and shade breaks in the chairs! We jumped "mommy, daddy and baby" waves for endless hours. Vacations are always my favorite times with Emerson, some of my favorite memories. We didn't do much else besides become beach bums. We went out for dinner nightly and on the last night we drove out to some famous sand dunes at Grayton State Park and took a few pictures, we dreamed of owning one of the houses there one day as well. We had a late flight sunday, so we hit the beach until lunch then showered and ate and walked around some shopping centers in Destin. We got back to DFW at 1 AM with one tired little girl. She slept on the airplane on the way home which was a nice break for everyone. I had to add in a few previous beach trip pics to compare!
