Oh my, I can not believe Emerson is already 5 months old! People are not kidding when they say time flies!!! I still think she is as tiny as she was the day I brought her home (yea, maybe I can't handle the truth!), but Staci informed me she has gotten HUGE! Okay, Okay, her cheeks are getting chubby, but that's because she's an eatin' machine! So far she has had, bananas, avocado, green beans, peas, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, carrots and prunes! All made by Chef Allie (except for the prunes). She seems to love everything, just gobbles it right down! The other day I was eating a bowl of cereal and watching the Today show, and I glanced down at her and she was staring at me with huge bug eyes with her mouth wide open! Poor little girl thinks she is always supposed to be eating! Some things she is up to right now at the ripe ol age of 5 months: loves making the pfff noise with her mouth (some people call it raspberries), loves smiling when she wakes up in the morning, loves to be in her crib and take her socks off and play till she falls asleep cuddling her bear head and thumb in mouth, likes a good book now and then, enjoys bath time, walks, and many more. She runs on a pretty strict schedule, set by her of course. Wakes up probably around 7 am, I hear her playing around at 8 and go get her (best feeling ever when she is so excited to see me:), eat, then we head downstairs to watch more of the Today Show (our fav!), and she LOVES watching me drink coffee. When the cup gets anywhere near her she reaches for it with her mouth open! My mom got her a sippy cup with handles to pretend she is drinking. So, we sip our coffee, play around for a while, then she wants back in the crib. The girl loves her crib. Literally, crys to get in there. So, she goes down for a nap. 3 hours later, repeat routine..lunch style! We usually take H-dog out on a walk after lunch. OH and by the way, Hank is her favorite toy ever!! When she sees him in the morning she gets super excited and starts panting, smiling and kicking her legs. Although that toy requires more maintenance than her other toys, at least we don't have to change batteries on it!! When she is laying on her back, he will stroll by and she well just stick her hand out in hopes she gets to touch him! She just thinks he is the coolest thing ever, and when he eats, she grins ear to ear. Ooooo speaking of, John and I have gotten her to laugh a few times and it is the sweetest little noise ever! Anyways, back to her routine, so then it's afternoon nap, till about 4 30-5. Then bath, dinner, books, play, then when she starts sucking thumbs, crib. Usually always asleep by 6 30pm. Some days are longer than others, but we have a lot of fun. I wear my good sweat pants (as Jess would say), every once in a while. Feels good to put on the fancy ones!!
On Wed we go to a little 30 minute class at the Keller Library. Just a group of moms in the area and their babes, and we do a few songs and play with some puppets and books. I think she likes it! She's been to lunch and dinner with one of her friends, Nolan, a few times..they don't really notice each other yet.
Guess I'll post some pics now... still can't believe it's been 5 months! Every month is just a little funner with her! Can't sit up on her own yet, but she will soon enough! Oh, and we rolled over by accident once!
