Halloween!!

Here's how we started our day! Donuts!

Then to the park for picnic with Kade and Ella!

Nap time-she got her princess dresses down to sleep with!

And now we wait for pizza and trick or treating!
Emerson was Princess Jasmine for trick or treating this year! Her costume was a little scandalous but she's 3 and it's one of the only ages it's acceptable. All the neighbors thought she looked cute so I don't think it offended anyone! Our old neighborhood we were lucky to get 1 trick or treater, this neighborhood was fantastic! We had so much fun, and Em trick or treated until her pumpkin literally could not hold another piece of candy. Almost every house participated whether they were there in the drive way handing out candy or left a bowl because they were trick or treating as well! Emerson thought it was so great seeing other kids in costumes she recognized, we did have one scary one that held us up for a while until they were out of sight:) Can't wait until next year when I have 2 little trick or treaters, well one will be along for the ride, but still in costume of course!

    Princess Jasmine

Me and my girl! And might I add I was very, very sore after 2 hours of walking the neighborhood but I wouldn't have missed it for the world!

John was embarrassed because he thought we were leaving too early so he made us come back in for a few minutes

  And she's off!

 1st house, a little timid...

2nd house...got the hang of it!

3rd house....a full on conversation about trick or treating and Jasmine

A fun way of handing out candy while you're out with your family!

I love when people go all out!

 Waiting patiently

Emerson started stopping in front of any prop and asking for her picture. She knows me too well

 Another spooky set up!

 Sweet! Melts my heart

 One of our neighbors!

And here's some of our goodies!

 Checking out what she got!

She got some monster teeth...

Princess cards were a huge hit! I was able to sneak all the receeses away!

School Costume Parade

Yesterday the kids all wore their costumes to school for a parade and fall festival! I stayed for the parade because it was first thing and the kids all looked so cute! I'm so glad she's in school and gets to participate in fun things like this! She was Cinderella for this event!

Em's favorite teacher, Pam and her class coming!

There she is! And she spotted the candy!

Checking to see what she got...

       2 Cinderella's

    And they're off!

Oct 28, 2012

It finally came, Emerson's official 3rd birthday! We've done lots of celebrating the past few weeks, but for her actual birthday we made the 65 mile drive out to Fossil Rim zoo and it was a lot of fun! It was a chilly, chilly day and we bundled up in our sweats, got our coffee and hit the road at 7:30 am. I read the reviews that said to go early otherwise the animals are full and you don't see them! I'm glad we did because everyone was right, it took us 4 hours to drive through and by the end, the animals were starting to become more distant! Our favorite part of course was the giraffes! They only ate from me and John, they steered clear from the toddler like any smart animal would:) We saw lots of "reindeer" and other animals with horns. We did NOT like the ostriches. I saw them coming and made John roll up the windows in a hurry. When they blink their eyes turn white and it's very freaky. They pecked my window and that was it for me, I said GO! They are weird animals. I'm not really a bird fan anyhow, they just freak me out. My camera died about 1/2 way through but I got some great pics on my cell phone to add at the end! We eneded the day with my parents coming over for dinner, and we were TIRED!

                 8:30 AM..brrrr

       getting bundled up!

Dinosaurs at the entrance, she wanted to see them, but was scared when she got close

       My big 3 year old!

Looking at buffalo "buccalo"

          Yikes, crazy bird

Some of the animals we saw

         Love girl deer, so pretty

Group shot with the guy above, but he ducked out of the pic...

our favorite, the giraffes. They were locked up when we first drove by so we went to the petting zoo and had lunch and then they were out!

we had the petting zoo all to ourselves, it was so fun! Emerson LOVED this black guy, would not leave him alone and had a long goodbye talk with him

         this girls' ears were cute!

This is when my camera died so I'll add my other pics soon:)

So pretty!!

Cannot get enough of the giraffes!
